Utopia or Dystopia?
This week we saw some positive trends toward a more peaceful world such as the first talks between Iran and the USA since 1979 and a UN Security Council resolution on removing chemical weapons from Syria. Hooray! We also received another clear wake up call from the International Panel on Climate Change that the Earth is rapidly warming with catastrophic consequences and that humans are the most probably cause. And in the USA we saw continued dysfunctional and dangerous leadership by the majority party in the House of Representatives.
Well, as was famously said, it isn't over till its over. And, as my wise, late mother used to remind us, it will all be okay in the end. Utopia or dystopia, anyone?
Check out this week's six blog posts below and join people from eleven countries who inaugurated this site. A shout out to the USA, Canada, India, Sri Lanka, the Philippines, Thailand, Tunisia, Kenya, Serbia, Russia and France. And special thanks to the Social Artistry journal for including this blog in its pages. This week was about sketching a practical, hopeful vision of the future. Next week we will focus on the obstacles and gaps that could keep us from realizing our highest vision for the Earth community.
What do you think the biggest obstacles facing us are?
In following weeks we will identify strategies to deal with the obstacles and move us toward our vision, as well as concrete actions plans and innovative leadership methodologies. Well, that's a plan.
Be safe, be happy and see you Monday.
