Supporting, Taking and Celebrating Compassionate Actions
After fourteen months of writing Compassionate Conversations, and after reflecting on messages (some below) from readers who made pledges, I felt called to invite participants to support this initiative, and turned on the paid subscription option.
“The picture coming out of Gaza shows the urgent need for compassionate conversations.” - Dr. Cosmos Gitta
“Thank you for writing beautifully about the connections you experienced, from squirrels to a dream of connecting towns across the world.” - Sue Huggins
“I respect your reflections about theology and this world in these complicated times.” - Aimee Hilliard
“You have the knowledge, skills, and commitment to help others and the world. Humanity is seized by FIG (fear, ignorance, and greed). Your compassion-based approach has incalculable value. Thank you. I support your work. Warm best wishes.” - Loraine Rickard-Martin
"This is important and inspiring. I look forward to reading it regularly." - Chic Dambach
"I'm reading your book A Compassionate Civilization among other books and studies in the same vein. I am a 60 yr old clinical social worker, still practicing, and I am looking for a community of like-minded individuals.” - R. C. Davenport
"Your writing encompasses both individual and collective transformation." - Blase Sands
"I really want to support you because of your belief in humanity and the environment at large." - Dr. Humphrey Nyapuodi
“You were the most honest and sensible person I ever met while working for the UN.” - Paul L
“The title is really attractive and I’ll be super interested to see who’s there and if indeed this becomes a personal interaction. That’s asking a lot, no?” - Sandy Strachan
"The destruction of Earth's life support systems now being caused by an antiquated economic system and lack of any semblance of a global community with common goals deprives future generations of a livable planet." - Harry Petrequin
All articles are still free for everyone. Every subscriber can post a comment and has access to the full archives. So what is the difference between free and paid subscribers?
Paid subscribers support Compassionate Conversations and commit to take actions to help strengthen socioeconomic justice, ecological regeneration, participatory democracy, gender, racial, and religious equality, peace and nonviolence, and mindfulness practice of understanding and compassionate action.
If you feel called to be a paid subscriber:
My writing is a gift. Your reading and comments are gifts. Your support is a gift. Our compassionate actions are gifts. It is all good, accepted, and received, and the future is open to possibilities of which we have dreamed, and have yet to dream.
May you and I be happy this July celebrating the Dalai Lama’s birthday, the Universal Day of Compassion, Canada Day, the USA’s birthday, my eightieth birthday, my fiftieth anniversary of becoming a dad and my older son being adopted, my mother’s birthday, my younger son’s wedding anniversary, and much more!
