Let's Create a Book Together
The next chapter of Compassionate Conversations
Dear readers, supporters, and friends,
I am preparing a book for publication of essays of “Compassionate Conversations.” Currently there are 114 essays written during 2023 - 2025. Could this book be useful to you? Who would you like to give a copy to or have in a book study group?
So far, I have copied all of the essays from Substack and created a Word document. I would deeply appreciate your advice or help with any of the following:
1) creating the book structure
2) creating the book title and subtitle
3) proof reading
4) editing
5) marketing
6) writing a review/endorsement of the book
7) making a donation to help cover formatting, publishing, and marketing
Please let me hear from you!
Preliminaries for the book:
Here are some of the current thoughts about the book:
Background:
These are the “Compassionate Conversations” essays on Substack becoming a book. The purpose of the CCs is to engage in reflection and dialogue on individual, social, and ecological challenges, and on actions and practices that embody mindfulness and compassionate community.
My intentions and perspectives for the book:
May this book strengthen mindfulness practices and compassionate actions concerning humanity’s urgent ecological, societal, and individual challenges. These are personal, dialogical essays addressed to several networks of concern as well as to the general public. My perspectives include being someone who experienced Hurricane Helene, the US national election, a fall during elderhood, and who is a reflective practitioner, writer, activist, practitioner of mindfulness, elder, member of a family, and former staff of UNDP, NYU Wagner Graduate School of Public Service, and the Institute of Cultural Affairs (ICA).
Reader audiences and markets include:
Activists, Third Act, elders, climate change, ecological regeneration, participatory democracy, social justice, Plum Village mindfulness movement, Lotus Institute, UNDP, UN, NYU Wagner, OSU, ICA USA, ICAI, CTS, DEAL, ToP, Integral, Social Artistry, Substack, CC subscribers and followers, family, friends, neighbors, SWAN, FB, LI, the general public, etc.
Publisher possibilities include: Parallax Press, Kindle Direct Publishing, C3 Press, etc.
