Caring for Our Self, Loved Ones, Communities, Nation, and World

I wrote this on 20 March 2020 and am sharing it now on 30 December 2020.
Many, many people are suffering and worried. Will I get this new virus? Will I die? Will any of my loved ones die? How can I ensure that I have food and supplies? How will I pay my bills if I have no job? Will my country fall apart from economic downturn and political incompetence? Is this merely the first of a seemingly endless series of crises that climate chaos will bring? In this moment, we must care for our self, our loved ones, our communities, our nation, and our world.
Caring for Our Self
Keep yourself safe. Be kind to yourself. Be aware of breathing in and breathing out. Enjoy moments of listening to music, and seeing the bright colors of spring flowers. Be grateful for the gift of life.
Caring for Our Loved Ones
Keep your loved ones safe. Be kind to your loved ones. Invite them to do things that they enjoy such as listening to music, or seeing the bright colors of spring flowers. Help them be aware of and grateful for the gift of life.
Caring for Our Communities
Keep your communities safe. Be kind to everyone you meet. Provide assistance to those in need. Invite people to enjoy life moment by moment. Help everyone be aware of and grateful for the gift of life.
Caring for Our Nation
Quickly create the structures and systems of testing and treating the virus. Practice social distancing. Provide emergency financial assistance and other care for everyone. Invite all citizens to be kind to each other. Remind everyone to pay attention to the miracle of each passing moment. Call on everyone to be grateful for the gift of this life.
Caring for Our World
Provide assistance of equipment, personnel, and finances to other countries that are suffering from this virus. Urge other countries to practice social distancing. Bring the international community together to plan and act together. Design global systems that care for all the people and all of nature on planet Earth. Invite all people to embody an ethic of compassionate action toward each other. Help people everywhere celebrate the miracle of living on planet Earth in harmony with each other and with nature.
May it be so!
